Take time to learn more about public speaking and leadership skills, time management, improv comedy, body language, voice projection, stage presence, and memory improvement. There are so many things you can do to improve all these. Take speech classes, go to comedy bars, get advice from time management experts, and engage in memory enhancement exercises.

Stretch your patience

If there’s one virtue a teacher needs, it’s patience. In fact, if you can’t be patient especially with kids or teens, you can’t really be a teacher. You have to stretch your patience for such a long mile so you don’t lose your sanity especially when dealing with difficult students. Having patience is not easy particularly if you’re short-tempered. What you can do is to heighten your ability to empathize. Be creative

Finally, you have to be creative. It’s important that you squeeze your creative juices in order for you to come up with interesting ways to captivate the attention of your students. If they all seem stressed out, help them relax and concentrate by brining indoor fountains to the class. The soothing water sounds will calm their minds so that they are able to absorb what you teach them more effectively. You can also turn lessons into games so that they will have an enjoyable time learning even the hardest concepts.
